Fundamental of Nursing (FON) Laboratory:

A Fundamentals of Nursing (FON) Lab is a simulation environment where nursing students practice and perfect essential nursing skills in a controlled, safe setting before working with actual patients.

Our labs are equipped with patient simulators, two modern mannequins and one paediatric mannequins for procedures like CPR, hospital beds, and various nursing equipment to provide hands-on experience in patient assessment, fundamental procedures, medication administration, and patient communication.

The goal is to bridge the gap between theory and practice, building student competency, confidence, and safe patient care skills.

FON Labs are stocked with essential nursing articles, instruments, lockers, cupboards, and specialized equipment etc.

Maternal & Child Health (MCH) Lab

  • A maternal-child health (MCH) lab is a specialized training facility in nursing and healthcare education that provides students with a hands-on learning environment to practice skills for caring for pregnant women, new-borns, infants, and children before working with real patients.
  • Our labs are equipped with mannequins, models, anatomical charts, and medical instruments to simulate various scenarios, allowing students to gain proficiency in areas like obstetrics, paediatrics, and basic life support.

Models and Mannequins:

  • High-fidelity simulators, maternity and gynaecological models, delivery models, and paediatric mannequins for practicing procedures.

Anatomical Aids:

  • Pelvic models and fetal skulls are used to help students understand the process of birth.

Community Health nursing Laboratory:

  • This lab ensures that the students learn home visiting bag technique & practice the community health nursing while providing family health care at the door step of the clients using modified home visiting kits.
  • Community lab makes the student’s clinical experience an educational and enlightening one and to promote empowerment of the students. Demonstrations on different procedures are given prior to perform in community to meet their objectives. It also helps in problem-solving and decision making skills. Demonstrations make the learning more realistic and authentic.

Nutrition and Dietetics Laboratory:

Nutrition and Dietetics Laboratory:

The nutrition lab is meant to capacitate the scholar nurses to accumulate adequate knowledge for maintenance of optimum health at different stages of life and its application of practice in nursing.The lab is also used for designing of new food products, preparing balanced diets for different age groups of the population, formulating therapeutic diets for different disease conditions and designing diet plan for physical fitness and well-being.

Facilities:
  • The Nutrition Lab is equipped & well furnished with utensils & nutritional charts. It is well ventilated, lighting & adequate water facilities.
  • We have facilities in Nutrition Lab like glassware articles, refrigerator, Mixture and juicer, Dinner Set, Dining Table with Chair, Table met, stove, weighting machine.
Activities:
  • To introduce students about Cookery rules and Preservation of nutrients.
  • To prepare and serve simple beverages and different types of foods.
  • To aware about principles, methods of cooking and serving
  • To give knowledge regarding calculation of balance diet for different categories of people.

The anatomy lab offers students practical learning experiences that are crucial grasping the body's structure and organization. Our lab is furnished with an axial skeleton, disarticulated human bones, models of organs and both macroscopic and microscopic representations of organs accompanied by pictorial charts.

Anatomy lab is very helpful in making the teaching realistic and interesting one. Anatomy lab aims at understanding the human anatomy, imparting microscopic view of its different parts.

College of Nursing library

We have a well-structured library for students. It highlights key resources, facilities, and the overall environment designed to support their specific academic and professional needs.

This library is a well-furnished, spacious, with serene environment designed to serve as the academic and research hub for our students.

Presently, library is equipped with e-learning facilities along with 1208 no.of text books among which 507 are new edition available.

National nursing journals which caters to the learning needs of the student’ssubscriptions are two in number.Facility of e-library resources are available for students.

Study materials: A repository of previous years' question papers and project reports, helping students prepare for examinations and research too.

Nursing Student hostels are residential facilities providing accommodation, basic amenities like electricity and water, and communal spaces for social and academic activities, while nursing mess having specifically to the dining hall within these hostels that serves meals, often including both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, to students. These facilities are designed to offer a safe, convenient, and conducive living and dining experience for nursing students, complete with security measures and recreational opportunities .We have five floored hostel building including 108 room available for female nursing students.

  • Auditorium Facilities: Events related to cultural curricular activities are conducted at Auditorium of Aarogya Bhavan, DHS,which is located in Saint George’s hospital campus, Mumbai. Auditoriums offer facilities like comfortable seating, sound and audio-visual systems, stage with lighting, power backup, and air conditioning etc.Also providing various academic, cultural, and co-curricular events such as guest lectures, seminars, and conferences, light lamping, batching ceremony etc. .These well-equipped spaces are central to providing a conducive and enriching environment for holistic student development and professional engagement.
