Educational Visit to Xavier’s Resource Centre for the Visually Challenged (XRCVC), Mumbai

As per the syllabus requirements under Medical and Surgical Nursing,
students visited the Xavier’s Resource Centre for the Visually Challenged (XRCVC), Mumbai.
XRCVC, a department of St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, works towards empowering
people with blindness and low vision through education, technology, accessibility, and advocacy.

Purpose of the Visit

1. To observe the physical layout of the Blind School.
2. To understand the staffing pattern of the Blind School.
3. To study the educational curriculum followed for students.
4. To gain information about extracurricular and recreational activities.
5. To acquaint students with the health and medical facilities available.
6. To understand the rehabilitative services provided for students with visual impairment.
